Out of the three tropical systems in the Atlantic that AccuWeather.comMeteorologists are monitoring, the one that could impact the nation first liesin the eastern Caribbean. The wave has pushed west of the Lesser Antilles, andis on track to reach the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the weekend.Drenching showers and thunderstorms will spread over the Caribbean Islands asthe wave approaches the Gulf of Mexico. The threat exists for dangerous flashflooding and mudslides. The date given on the graphic above indicates thearrival of the tropical wave, not the showers and thunderstorms. The wetweather will begin to overspread the Caribbean Islands one day prior.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms associated with the tropical wave will ruinoutdoor plans across Florida on Saturday, especially southern areas. Thestorminess should reach the lower Mississippi Valley early next week.
Strong wind shear is currently preventing the tropical wave from developing.
Since there will be less shear present when the wave reaches the Gulf ofMexico, some intensification may occur.
