Along with the severe storms shifting into the South will be the threat ofrenewed flooding. As much as 2 to 4 inches will fall from the Florida Panhandleinto the eastern Carolinas. This much rain will not only present a flashflooding threat for urban centers, but could aggravate flooding along thearea's rivers and streams.Rivers are already running high to above flood stage in southern Georgia andnorthern Florida, areas that have been slammed by several rounds of heavy rainrecently.

Basements of homes and businesses could take in water as roadways alsobecome covered. Avoid driving over roadways with water, because it only takes alittle water to carry or stall a vehicle.
