Emmer, Horner work outstate Minnesota

Candidates hit rural areas looking for votes.

Independence Party candidate Tom Horner on Thursday traveled to Grand Rapids for a community meet-and-greet lunch with local civic and business leaders including representatives of the Blandin Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce.

Later he'll attend a HIbbing community meet-and-greet with local business and civic leaders. He'll spend the night in Duluth. Rep. Tom Emmer, the GOP candidate for governor, is scheduled to spend most of his time Friday touring western and northwestern Minnesota Friday. After a quick stop Friday morning at the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, Emmer will head for a rally in Otter Tail County, then go to Moorhead, hit a rally at Becker County and wind up in Hubbard County.
