Metro Transit, the University of Minnesota and public safety agencies from across the metro area tested their emergency preparedness Tuesday with an exercise near TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The scenario was an accident between a light-rail train and a bus, seen below, that was filled with passengers. About 250 people took part in the drill, which including people playing the part of the injured, such as the woman at right, an "accident victim" who lost a leg. Metro Transit's parent, the Metropolitan Council, and the university said the drill, which also included smoke, real-time responses and radio communication, is part of federal requirements for rail lines. Similar drills were held in 2011 and 2012.
