Writers groups are fun to be in because you get to chat and talk with friends. Watching that happen on stage? Not so much. The WriterRung group — essentially playing themselves — share bits of poetry, scenes from works in progress, and even a song from an unfinished musical. It's easy to sense the deep friendships, but they don't always come across on stage. A lot of that has to do with the ramshackle production that features stiff acting, as many of the performers relied on their scripts as crutches. (10 p.m. Sat., 7 p.m. Sun., 8:30 p.m. Wed., 7 p.m. Thu., Mixed Blood Theatre, 1501 S. 4th St., Mpls.)
