Edwards doesn't hide his disappointment

Vikings defensive end expresses disappointment with contract status among other things

Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards has never been one to bite his tongue and he certainly had some inflammatory comments in two stories online and in the paper today.

Judd caught up with Edwards at the Vikings Arctic Blast snowmobile event this past weekend. Edwards clearly is unhappy with the fact he won't be able to become an unrestricted free agent because of a lack of a new CBA. Edwards probably didn't endear himself to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell or his own union with his pointed comments in this story.

Edwards also had some interesting comments about the Vikings showing "fear" on the sidelines during the NFC Championship game. Edwards first referenced it in a radio interview with KFAN's Paul Allen last week and then reiterated it to Judd.

Edwards didn't mention anyone specifically, but it's pretty obvious his comments right here were directed at the coaching staff.

I'm not sure what Edwards means exactly by his comments. I obviously wasn't on the sideline, but I didn't sense any fear in the Vikings game plan or play-calling. There was obvious confusion and miscommunication with the 12 men in the huddle, but again I'm not sure what he meant by showing fear.

If anything, I thought the Saints became more conservative offensively as the game went on. Edwards didn't expound much on his comments, other than to say the Saints "trusted their players."
