Edina police are offering a $3,000 reward for the arrest of suspects in a brazen daytime jewelry store robbery in the city's posh 50th and France shopping district.

The smash-and-grab robbery occurred at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday when three men with hammers entered R.F. Moeller Jeweler at 5020 France Av. S., broke display cases and stole jewelry and valuables.

Kaylin Eidsness, senior communications coordinator for the city of Edina, said the suspects did not say anything or threaten the jewelry store staff with the hammers. No one was injured. "They just ran in, smashed and went," she said.

They then drove a stolen blue minivan to nearby Bruce Avenue, where they tried to light it on fire before they abandoned it and fled in a black four-door sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to call Edina police at 952-826-1610. Callers may remain confidential.
