An 87-year-old Edina man who was hit by a car in a fast-food restaurant parking lot in Hopkins has died, authorities said Wednesday.

Thomas P. Lueders was struck in the early evening of July 21 outside the Wendy's at 502 Blake Road and died Saturday at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

The city attorney's office is reviewing the case against the driver, a 20-year-old man from St. Louis Park, for possible misdemeanor or gross-misdmeanor charges, said Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg.

Glassberg said there was no indication that the driver had been drinking.
