Edina eliminated in American Legion play; Eden Prairie still alive

An American Legion Central Plains Regional Tournament game ended early Sunday in Dickinson, N.D., after Edina fell behind Omaha 25-1. The game was called after the seventh inning, in which Omaha scored 10 runs -- just as it had done in the third. Evan Ryan had four RBI for Omaha, and the win went to pitcher Taylor Elman, who struck out five.

Eden Prairie had beaten Edina 8-6 in a game that ended early Sunday and then was beaten by Dickinson 6-5 in 10 innings Sunday night.

Saints drop series finale to Sox The St. Paul Saints lost their series finale 5-4 to the Amarillo Sox at home in Midway Stadium in front of 5,110, falling 5.5 games behind the Winnipeg Goldeyes for the wild card playoff spot with 20 games left. The Saints squandered leads three times, and the Sox scored three runs in the sixth to take the lead for good.
