Eden Prairie police warn residents about thefts from homes and cars

Eden Prairie police are warning residents to lock up in the wake of a recent string of burglaries in the city.

The first occurred on the 11000 block of Burr Ridge on July 17 when somebody took wallets, cash and car keys from a residence and a vehicle parked in the garage. Police responded to four other cases in which someone stole checkbooks, cash and keys from unlocked vehicles parked in garages or driveways on Burr Ridge.

Last Tuesday, a vehicle was stolen during the overnight hours from a driveway on the 8000 block of Cypress Lane. The same morning, thieves ransacked three other unlocked vehicles on the street, police said.

Police say there may be multiple suspects committing these crimes. Detectives are following up on leads, and they ask the public to report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
