Authorities have released the identity of the Eden Prairie pickup truck driver who pulled away from a stop sign in the southwest metro and was struck by a semitrailer truck and killed.

David D. Brekke, 59, crossed into the path of the semi south of Jordan on Wednesday, the State Patrol said. The semi was heading north on Hwy. 169 when it struck the pickup at Delaware Avenue in St. Lawrence Township.
The semi's driver, a 76-year-old man from Sleepy Eye, Minn., was not injured.
