Eastview repeats as 3A jazz dance team champion

The Lightning won their fourth jazz title. Benilde-St. Margaret's won the Class 2A championship and Aitkin took the Class 1A title.

Eastview successfully defended its jazz title in the dance team state tournament Friday at Target Center.

The Lightning claimed their fourth jazz title. Maple Grove placed second and Edina followed in third. Eastview will try to defend its high-kick championship on Saturday.

In Class 2A, Benilde-St. Margaret's won its eighth jazz title, with defending champion Totino-Grace placing second and Sartell third. Totino-Grace will seek to defend its high-kick title on Saturday.

Aitkin won its second Class 1A jazz title, with defending champion Frazee placing second and Yellow Medicine East (Granite Falls) third. Aitkin, the three-time defending champion in the high-kick competition, will try for its ninth title Saturday.
