Eastview guard following dreams

September 3, 2011 at 10:53PM

Eastview offensive guard Zack Johnson hopes to lead the Lightning back to the state football tournament in his senior season. Here is a closer look at Johnson:

The best movie I've seen in the past year? "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Memories" by Big Sean; "My Closet" by Big Sean; "Cold as Ice" by CyHi Da Prynce.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Leader; funny; strong.

Favorite meal before a game? Subway.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? Well, school always comes first, so I get all my work done and consider football a reward of doing my school work.

How did you get started playing football? I had always wanted to play football, so when third grade came along and we were old enough to play tackle football I started.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... excited because all of my hard work had paid off.

What did you work on in the offseason? Getting stronger and faster and working on technique.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Going to state my sophomore year.

To get focused for a game, I ... sit by myself with my iPod on and think about what needs to be done on the field.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Philadelphia Eagles because I was always a big fan of Donovan McNabb and I got stuck with always cheering for them.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? To always follow my dreams.
