Eastview boys return to lacrosse state championship

The Lightning, on the strength of four goals by Tanner Hamill, defeated tournament newcomer Champlin Park 10-6 in a semifinal game Thursday.

Defending boys' lacrosse state champion Eastview held off tournament newcomers Champlin Park in a 10-6 victory in Thursday's first semifinal game at Chanhassen High School.

The No. 2 seed Lightning will face the winner of Thursday's second semifinal game between No. 1 seed Eden Prairie and No. 4 seed White Bear Lake. The championship game takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday at Chanhassen.

Tanner Hamill scored four goals for Eastview, which saw its lead cut to 7-6 in the fourth quarter by two Champlin Park goals scored 17 seconds apart. the Rebels were the No. 3 seed.
