Top-seeded Eastview used five players to overcome one Friday, defeating fourth-seeded Park of Cottage Grove 83-81 in the semifinals of the Class 4A, Section 3 boys' basketball tournament.

Five Lightning players scored in double figures, balance needed because the Wolfpack's Domenik Block scored a game-high 42 points.

Block had a chance to tie the score with three free throws with 2.9 seconds left. The senior made the first shot but missed the next two. Time ran out as the teams scrambled to grab the loose ball.

Jaylen James made four consecutive free throws in the final minute for the Lightning. He finished with a team-high 27 points. Steven Crowl had 21 points for the Lightning. Charlie Gorres had 19 points for the Wolfpack.

Hopkins 82, St. Louis Park 59: Zeke Nnaji scored 46 points to lead the top-seeded Royals past the fourth-seeded Orioles in the semifinals at Osseo High School. Jacob Houts led the Orioles with 18 points.

Holy Angels 94, St. Croix Lutheran 71: Matt Banovetz's 40 points led the top-seeded Stars past the fourth-seeded Crusaders in the semifinals of Class 3A, Section 3.

Big Lake 56, Delano 52: The fourth-seeded Hornets jumped to a six-point halftime lead and held off the top-seeded Tigers in the second half in the semifinals of Class 3A, Section 5 at St. Michael-Albertville. Logan Nagorski led the Hornets with 19 points.

Girls' basketball section finals

Class 4A, Section 1: Lauren Jensen made a running shot with 3.4 seconds left to give Lakeville North a 37-35 victory over Farmington to win the section final for the third straight year and eighth time in 10 years. Jensen scored a game-high 19 points.

Class 2A, Section 3: Redwood Valley handed Eden Valley-Watkins its first loss of the season and advanced to state for the second time in school history with a 62-58 victory at Southwest Minnesota State. Sydney Sommers led the Cardinals with 18 points.

Class 2A, Section 6: Fourth-seeded Albany jumped out to a big early lead and rolled in a 60-28 victory over sixth-seeded Pine City at St. Cloud State. Paige Meyer led the Huskies with 27 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Class 2A, Section 8: Top-seeded Roseau advanced to state for the fifth consecutive season with a 73-58 victory over fifth-seeded Crookston. Kacie Borowicz led the Rams with 29 points, and Katie Borowicz had 23.

Class 1A, Section 2: BOLD defeated St. Clair 63-41 to advance to the state tournament for the second time in school history.
