Eastern Snow, Rain and Wind with Friday Storm

A major storm with potential for serious impact will take shape along thenorthern Atlantic Seaboard late in the week. On Friday, when the storm`s effectupon the East will be greatest, its direct path will likely pass right over NewEngland. A cold outbreak into the East will accompany the storm, as will rain,snow and strong, gusty winds.An area along the central Appalachians to northern and western will see somesnow. Locally heavy snow will be possible.

In New England and eastern New York, widespread rain may be heavy enough forflooding. And heavy wet snow could fall over the mountains of northwestern NewEngland.

Wind gusts of 30-40 mph will buffet the Mid Atlantic, New England and theeastern Great Lakes. Gusts will potentially top 50 mph in windier spots.
