AFTON

JUNE 6

Animal concern. A hound dog was observed loose on the 2000 block of Neal Avenue. The dog was nearly hit by two cars. Its owner was contacted and the animal was contained.

HUGO

JUNE 8

Assist public. A gate at SharaDon Performance, 15775 Forest Blvd. N., was found open. The officer checked the business and all looked in place. The gate was secured.

LAKE ELMO

JUNE 7

Animal concern. A sick or injured raccoon was reported in a yard on the 11000 block of 14th Street N. The resident secured the animal by placing a piece of Tupperware over it. An officer arrived and the baby raccoon was released into nature.

MAHTOMEDI

JUNE 7

Park concern. A caller reported people training their dogs at Chautauqua Park, 75 1/2 Quail St. The caller said it was not a proper use of the park. By the time an officer arrived, the people training their dogs had left.

MAPLEWOOD

JUNE 2

Theft. A backpack containing credit and debit cards and a BlackBerry cell phone was stolen while the owner played basketball at Vista Hills Park, 2480 Mailand Road. The backpack was about five feet from the court when it was taken.

JUNE 6, JUNE 8

Burglaries. The Gethsemane Church and School at 2410 Stillwater Road was broken into on both dates. An overhead projector was taken during one of the break-ins.

JUNE 7

Theft. Two vans at the TSE Inc. building, 1983 Sloan Place, had their catalytic converters cut off and stolen.

Burglary. A garage on the 2000 block of Ide Street was broken into and hockey and football equipment was taken, along with a mountain bike.

Theft. A yellow 1989 Case Skid Steer was stolen from Qwest at 1890 Gervais Av. The Skid Steer appeared to have been loaded onto a trailer.

JUNE 8

Theft. A bright green backpack was taken from an unlocked vehicle on the 1100 block of Crestview Court. The backpack and its contents were later recovered in a nearby park.

Burglary. Someone entered a shed at Afton Park, 63 Sterling St., and stole a fire extinguisher. The interior of the shed was sprayed with the fire extinguisher and the shed doors also had brown spray painted graffiti on them.

JUNE 4

Cow in the road. A cow was observed running down the yellow line of the road on the 16300 block of Square Lake Trail. The owner was contacted and advised.

OAKDALE

JUNE 4

Theft. An 18-year-old man was detained at Mills Fleet Farm, 5635 Hadley Av. N., for stealing fishing line valued at $14.95.

JUNE 5

Theft. A pizza delivery man reported delivering $34.23 worth of food to an apartment building on the 1000 block of Hadley Avenue. He was given a wad of crumpled money by the customer who then entered the building behind locked security doors. The wad of money turned out to be two $1 bills wrapped around newspaper to make it look like more money. Attempts to contact the customer were unsuccessful.

Theft. An 18-year-old woman reported that her keys were stolen from her vehicle on the 6900 block of 10th Street. The keys were stuck in the ignition so she left them there while she carried items into an apartment. When she returned, the keys were gone.

Theft. An employee at Kmart, 7191 10th St. N., reported that a man exited the store with an RCA television valued at $369.99. The man fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
