SEPT. 12

Squad car/deer accident. While following up on a report of a deer injured in an accident in the area of Oneka Lake Boulevard and Goodview Avenue, a deputy's squad car was run into by a deer. The animal hit the rear passenger side of the vehicle, tumbled down and then ran off.

LAKE ST. CROIX BEACH

SEPT. 13

Dumping complaint. A tenant who was being evicted from a residence in the 1500 block of Queens Avenue dumped a trailer full of trash on the property because, he said, $100 worth of copper that belonged to him had been taken from the trailer.

LAKELAND

SEPT. 18

Traffic violation. A deputy observed a vehicle go all the way around a roundabout in the area of Quinlan Avenue and Division Street and then proceed slowly through the neighborhood it had just come from. The vehicle was pulled over when the driver failed to signal a turn. The driver told the deputy he thought he hit a flowerpot and turned around to check.

LANDFALL

SEPT. 10

Animal concern. Someone in the 200 block of Dellwood Square reported a cat hanging from a fence. The caller was referred to animal control.

MARINE ON ST. CROIX

SEPT. 15

Suspicious activity. A resident in the 200 block of Tanglewood Lane reported someone knocking on their door and then seeing someone walking through their yard with a flashlight. A deputy found a man in the area, a neighborhood acquaintance of the complainant, who had been walking around tracking a deer.

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP

SEPT. 14

Suspicious activity. Several people were reported walking around the property of M.J. Raleigh Trucking Inc., 15250 100th St. A deputy found four people who said they were looking for agates. They were told to drop their rocks and leave.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

SEPT. 13

Hot-air balloon concern. Someone reported a hot-air balloon flying low in the 2000 block of Paris Avenue and was worried it might have mechanical problems. A deputy assured the caller the balloon looked fine.

SEPT. 16

Suspicious activity. A caller told police he heard the voices of several youths coming from a nearby field in the area of Morgan Avenue and 20th Street. He thought they might be vandals, so he went to see who they were and what they were up to. They ran away, and he chased them but ended up losing them. The caller reported no damage on his property.

WOODBURY

SEPT. 10

Trespassing complaint. The owner of a business in the 1500 block of Woodlane Drive requested a customer be trespassed as a result of the verbal abuse she administers to his staff. The customer told police that she will not be going back to the business because of the bad service. A trespass notice was mailed to the woman.

SEPT. 11

Traffic violation. A driver in the area of Pioneer Drive and Bailey Ridge Drive was cited for following the vehicle ahead of her too closely.

SEPT. 15

Theft of services. A woman in the 11000 block of Oak Grove Circle refused to pay for a $35 cab fare. She told the cabdriver she didn't have to pay because her boyfriend was an attorney. After she refused to answer her phone or come to the door to talk to officers, the driver said he was not interested in pursuing charges.
