Hastings

FEB. 5

Theft. A Roto-Rooter employee finished doing some drain work at a house in the 300 block of W. 9th Street and left his drain snake machine by his van while he spoke with the homeowner. When he came back outside, the drain snake was gone.

FEB. 6

Theft. A witness saw a man remove two hubcaps from a van in the parking lot at Coborn's, 225 W. 33rd St. The witness obtained a license plate number and called police. A vehicle matching the plate description was located and stopped in a nearby parking lot. The driver was identified. He stated that he pulled into Coborn's and happened to see hubcaps that match his van, so he took one of them, circled the lot and returned to get another one. Police recovered the stolen hubcaps and issued the man a citation for theft.

Little Canada

JAN. 18

Burglary. A garage in the 2900 block of Rice Street was burglarized, and a boat and four-wheeler were stolen.

JAN. 21

Theft. A man was cited for shoplifting steaks and shrimp at Aldi, 2350 Rice St. Roseville police stopped the man after he was seen running away from a woman in an Aldi uniform.

Maplewood

FEB. 7

Theft. Between 7:30 and 7:35 a.m. two people reported thefts from their vehicles while they were dropping off their kids at Kindercare, 1925 Cty. Rd. D. A purse and its contents were stolen from one of the vehicles, and a bag containing an Apple laptop, and school books were stolen from the other vehicle.

FEB. 8

Burglary. A house in the 2500 block of Cypress Street was burglarized. The back service door to the garage was kicked in to gain entry into the house. The interior of the house was ransacked; jewelry, bonds, a DVD plater, camera, and a bottle of Crown Royal were stolen. A fireproof safe in the garage was opened, and bonds and a sapphire ring were stolen from the safe.

Oakdale

FEB. 7

Neighbor dispute. Police were called to the 3700 block of Grovner Road, because a woman wanted to make a citizen's arrest against her neighbors. The woman claimed the neighbors keep her awake at night when they lock their vehicles with remote keys. The horns beep once. Police advised the woman that locking cars with remote keys isn't considered unreasonable noise, and gave the woman several examples of unreasonable noise. The woman wasn't happy with the officer's advice and said she would take matters into her own hands. The woman became upset, yelled obscenities at the police officer and told him to leave the house.

St. Paul

JAN. 21

Road rage. A person in one car threw potatoes at another car during a road rage incident that began near Hwy. 35E and Hwy. 61.

Vadnais Heights

JAN. 21

Noise complaint. Deputies were dispatched to an apartment in the 1000 block of County Road D on a noise complaint. Several people were found intoxicated and one man argued belligerently with deputies, claiming that he "knew the law." The man then fought with deputies and was arrested. He squirmed and was able to move his handcuffed arms from his back to his front. He reached around and got out of the squad car and started to walk away, but was caught. The man did this again when he arrived at the police station. He explained that his shoulders were double-jointed and he could "do this all day long."

White bear Township

JAN. 19

Theft. Fishing rods, lures, a cooler and a heater were stolen from an icehouse on White Bear Lake near the 5000 block of Lake Avenue.
