An East Bethel man was found dead Thursday after crashing his snowmobile on Coon Lake.
The body of Corey Glen Watson, 32, was found by a person walking a dog near the scene on a lake channel near Dogwood Road, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. The body had been there at least overnight, authorities said.
Damage to the front end of the snowmobile indicated that Watson was speeding when he struck a tree on the shoreline, officials said. He did not appear to be wearing a helmet, and it is unclear whether he had been drinking, the Sheriff's Office said.
