Eagan police investigate after baby in bed with intoxicated grandmother dies

Eagan police are investigating the death of a 10-week-old baby whose intoxicated grandmother fell asleep with him in bed. Police were called to the home at 1:16 p.m. July 7, and the baby boy was pronounced dead shortly afterward at Children's Hospital in St Paul.

The 46-year-old grandmother had a blood-alcohol level of 0.18 percent, police said. She has not been arrested.

The case remains under investigation, and will be presented to prosecutors to consider charges, police said.
