Eagan man crashes snowmobile into tree, dies in Aitkin County

A Twin Cities man crashed his snow­mo­bile into a tree in a north­ern Minnesota state park and was killed, auth­ori­ties said Tues­day.

Paul R. Schanno II, 53, of Eagan, was rid­ing north of Sa­van­na Portage State Park on Saturday afternoon when he struck a tree at a curve along the trail, ­accord­ing to the Aitkin County Sher­iff's Office.

Em­er­gen­cy responders pro­nounced Schanno dead at the scene.
