Eagan, East Ridge in Woodbury, Lakeville North and Cannon Falls took home big wins in the Minnesota State Speech Tournament at Lakeville North High School this weekend.
In class AA, Eagan, East Ridge and Lakeville North took home two gold medals each, according to a release from the Minnesota State High School League. Moorhead and Eagan tied in the first inaugural team title with 66 points each. Of the 2015 champions, Micah Spieldenner of Chanhassen was the only one to win a gold medal for the second year in a row, for Humorous Interpretation.
In class A, Cannon Falls scored two gold medals, beating out all the other schools and taking home the first inaugural team title, according to a release from the Minnesota State High School League. Anagha Komaragiri of Fairmont took home a gold medal for her third year in a row. Jennifer Portis of Mounds Park Academy in St. Paul won her second gold medal in a row for Original Oratory, and was the only other competitor to successfully keep her title.
