Just an average all-American-Ukrainian girl. People says:

Aw, that just ruined everything. Then again, it's probably a step up from Steve Wozniak, her partner a few seasons ago.

If you're wondering whether she's related to Smirnoff vodka, I have no idea. Probably not. The Snirmov family was large, but not large enough to spread all over the empire, and many of Peter Smirnov's descendants were lost in the chaos of the civil war and Bolshevik take-over. It's quite a story, really - Smirnov was born a slave, purchased his freedom, and died one of the richest men in Russia. Along the way he invented liquor marketing and advertising, at least in their Russian versions. On the off chance you're single and have a crush on Karina and might want to have something to talk about if you're ever seated next to her on a plane, you might want to read Linda Hamilton's biography of Smirnov. It's quite good.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
