The Miller-Dwan Foundation will break ground for Amberwing, a new child, adolescent and young adult mental health and chemical dependency treatment center, on Friday at 11 a.m. on the corner of Pecan Avenue and Rice Lake Road in Duluth. The $6 million, 22,000-square-foot center is scheduled to open in the fall of 2012 and will serve up to 60 young people per day.

Minnesota Forest Industries, an association representing the state's forest products companies, has created the James L. Oberstar Fellowship at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs to honor the congressman who worked for decades to help strengthen the state's $9 billion forest products industry.
Beginning with the 2011-2012 academic year, a $10,000 scholarship will be awarded each year to a Humphrey School student. Congressman Oberstar is chairman of the advisory board at the Humphrey School's Center for Excellence in Rural Safety.
