Duluth casino drops minimum age for gambling from 21 to 18

DULUTH, Minn. — You don't have to be 21 anymore to place a bet at the Fond-du-Luth casino in Duluth.

The casino has dropped its minimum age for gambling to 18. The casino's general manager, Maurice Ojibway, says the primary reason for the change is to make it consistent with the Black Bear casino in Carlton. Both are operated by the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

The Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/1dhQM63 ) says the Fond-du-Luth casino raised its minimum age to 21 in 1992 when it started serving alcohol on the gaming floor.
