Judging from this billboard in Duluth, it looks like there's still a campaign on in the congressional race that installed Republican newcomer Chip Cravaack. Already a target of radio ads and phone banks by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the freshman congressman is now one of several around the nation being singled out by the Democratic-allied Americans United for Change. Cravaack is not a cosponsor of any legislation privatizing Medicare, but Democrats have been tying Republicans to House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., who has floated a reform proposal to replace Medicare with fixed payments or vouchers to buy a private insurance. Located in the DFL stronghold of Duluth, the billboard might also serve as a reminder to Democrats who either stayed home in November or defected to Cravaack, costing Iron Range stalwart Jim Oberstar his powerful seat in Congress.
