With a name like Duck Duck Punch, one might expect a chiptune blast of 8-bit dynamite. But the local synth-pop duo's debut, "Human Chemistry," is slightly more '80s ski-movie soundtrack than Atari medley. However, in this flick the make-out montage is abbreviated by bleakness (albeit a catchy bleakness). The sleeted synth tracks skew somber, but enough analog light shines through the album's Depeche Mode-dark, dance-floor flashbacks that accordant ass-shaking needn't be Prozac-propelled.
