Drowning suspected in man's death in a Mankato hotel pool

A 71-year-old man died after being pulled from a hotel pool in Mankato, authorities said.

Dewayne G. Ludwig, 71, of Pelican Rapids, Minn., was removed from the Fairfield Inn pool by emergency personnel about 6 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Ambulance staff joined in the efforts to resuscitate Ludwig, according to police.

No foul play is suspected in his death, which police are treating as a suspected drowning.
