Drought Relief for the Southeast

Large parts of the Southeast have been experiencing severe drought conditionsthis year and are in need of rainfall.Good news, tropical air arriving from the Gulf of Mexico this weekend willinteract with a stalled front leading to widespread thunderstorms across theregion.

The heaviest, most widespread thunderstorms will occur Sunday, especially fromFlorida to the western Carolinas.

Slow-moving storms could produce a quick 1-2 inches of rain and result in flashflooding.
