Large parts of the Southeast have been experiencing severe drought conditions this year and are in need of rainfall.

A weak disturbance moving along the jet stream will act as the trigger for thunderstorm initiation Saturday afternoon and evening.

Even though the thunderstorms will be fairly scattered, they will be strong to severe, causing damaging straight-line winds and large hail.
