The ongoing drought across parts of Texas has reached the extreme. For instance, Corpus Christi, Texas, has only received 20 percent of normal rainfall so far this year! Combining the months of January and February, there was only 0.17 of an inch of rainfall.

There is some good news. A storm system could bring significant rainfall to a large part of the drought-stricken region Saturday night and Sunday.
