A 22-year-old motorist went through a red light and was killed in a multivehicle crash during Wednesday morning's commute in Inver Grove Heights, authorities said.

The wreck occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Hwy. 55 at Argenta Trail, according to the State Patrol.

Rebecca C. Waller, of Harris, Minn., was heading east in her car on Hwy. 55 in the far right lane made a left-hand turn onto Argenta "against a red light" and was hit first by a westbound pickup truck and then by the oncoming semi, the patrol said in a statement. Waller did not survive the collisions.

The pickup's driver, 68-year-old Bradly A. Setering, of Prescott, Wis., was hospitalized with noncritical injuries, the patrol said.

The semi's driver, 51-year-old Darran A. Jonsgaard, of Fountain City, Wis., was not hurt, according to the patrol.

Westbound Hwy. 55 was closed throughout the balance of the morning to allow investigators to collect evidence, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
