Over the past year, hundreds of you have asked Whistleblower for help. While we can't investigate each tip, we want to share more of what you tell us. In 2009, we started publishing a few tips each week to stimulate online discussion and create ways for our readers to help each other. Unlike our news stories, we have not verified this information, so we do not include the names of the parties involved. If you have a tip, send it to whistleblower@startribune.com.

A man who parks at a downtown Minneapolis parking ramp thought something seemed fishy when the ramp attendant told him he had to pay for two hours because he had stayed one minute past an hour. He didn't think he had been parked for more than an hour. So he decided to do his own investigation.
Here's what he wrote to Whistleblower:

"So the last two times as I punched the button to receive my ticket I also started my stopwatch. Both times I was charged for two hours of parking and my stopwatch read 54:54 minutes and 55:16 minutes."

Have you ever caught a business that overcharged you thanks to an inaccurate clock? Did you succeed in getting your money back?
