A motorist who possibly suffered a seizure veered off a busy St. Louis Park thoroughfare, hit an apartment building and died the next day from his injuries, authorities said Wednesday.

The crash in the 6900 block of Excelsior Boulevard on Sunday night killed Donald R. Husband, 74, of St. Paul, police said. Husband was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and died about 12 hours later.

According to police:

Husband's vehicle crashed through the front window of an apartment in the Meadowbrook Manor building.

A police officer located Husband, who was disoriented and suffering from cuts to his faces, arms, hands and legs. While in the ambulance, Husband told the officer that he may have suffered a seizure just before crashing.

Maria G. Taratsas was in the kitchen of the apartment, when the vehicle came crashing through. The resulting damage left the residence uninhabitable.
