A Zimmerman woman died Monday morning when a pickup truck driver lost control on a road north of the Twin Cities Tuesday morning, crossing into the path of her oncoming van, authorities said.

The head-on collision occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on County Road 5 near Holly Drive NW. in Bradford Township, according to the Isanti County Sheriff's Office.

Diane Langenbach, 55, died in the crash, the Sheriff's Office said. The pickup driver was identified as Trenece Lachinski, 39, of Isanti.

Lachinski was heading west on County Road 5 about 11 miles north of St. Francis, when the pickup "started fishtailing … slid into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck the van head-on," a statement from the Sheriff's Office read.

The spinning pickup then clipped an SUV, which also hit the van, the statement continued. The SUV driver's 7-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries.

No other injuries in either collision were reported.
