Authorities on Tuesday identified the driver who died after his vehicle was struck head-on by an SUV that strayed into the wrong lane in northeastern Anoka County.

Kevin Dale Lovdal, 60, of Lindstrom, Minn., was killed Friday night in the collision in the 9400 block of Viking Boulevard NE. in Linwood, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The SUV driver, 34-year-old Lynn Marie Filla, of Linwood, remains in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, a hospital spokesman said.

Lovdal's wife, 59-year-old Jody Lee Lovdal, was injured and has since been released from Regions Hospital, a spokeswoman said.

Filla was driving west on Viking Boulevard, crossed the centerline and struck the Lovdals' minivan, according to Sheriff's Cmdr. Paul Sommer.
