The motorist killed Tuesday when his vehicle left Interstate 694 in Shoreview and crashed into a tree has been identified.
Bradford T. Evans, 59, of Spooner, Wis., was killed in the crash that occurred about 12:40 p.m. along eastbound I-694, just east of Lexington Avenue, according to the State Patrol.
The vehicle "appeared to accelerate" when it left the right lane of the interstate and then went about 400 feet down an embankment before hitting the tree, the patrol added.
