Authorities have identified the suspected drunken driver who crashed her vehicle northwest of Duluth, killing a Twin Cities woman and leaving another passenger badly hurt.

Sherri R. Spillers, 33, of Alborn, Minn., faces possible charges in the rollover wreck shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday that killed passenger Chevra J. Ziegler, 48, of Shoreview, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

In critical condition Friday at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth was another passenger, Randy J. Ostman, 52, of Alborn, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Chevra Ziegler and Ostrom were thrown from the vehicle, the Sheriff's Office said.

A third passenger, Derek A. Ziegler, 23, of Alborn, Chevra Ziegler's son, was slightly hurt.

"Alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement, "with charges [possible] pending further investigation."

Spillers was driving about 30 miles northwest of Duluth on Shipley Road in Alborn, when she crashed.
