Two people were injured Saturday afternoon after being involved in a high-speed police chase in a suspected stolen car.

Two squad cars from the St. Anthony police attempted to stop the car on Larpenteur Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m. The car sped away, at times reaching estimated speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.

The chase, which lasted about two minutes, continued into St. Paul where the driver of the stolen car lost control and struck a light pole and a parked car near the intersection of Doswell and Como avenues.

Both the driver and a passenger were taken to Regions Hospital, where the passenger remained in stable condition Saturday night, according to Sgt. Jon Mangseth of the St. Anthony Police Department.

The driver was treated for injuries and released into police custody. No other injuries were reported, and no names were released.
