Those traveling to Penn State beware

Greetings

Just got an interesting e-mail from the Weather Channel. According to them, Saturday's game-day weather will "add a chapter to an eventful two-week stretch of weather in the State College area."

Apparently late last week there were winds intense enough to blow panels off the south-end scoreboard at Beaver Stadium.

This Saturday's forecast is calling for for lingering rain or wet snow showers which could last through the game. That means slush at worst and wet conditions for certain. Temps are set to hold in the 30s, which could set a record for the city's coldest daily high temp for Oct. 17.

That tells me the Gophers better be ready to run the ball.

Meanwhile, GopherIllustrated.com reports that offensive lineman josh Allen of Cedar Hill, Texas, has committed to Minnesota, continuing the Gophers drive to stockpile quality offensive linemen.
