After a relatively mild Tuesday, the Northeast will be treated to cold winds onWednesday, as Arctic air spreads in from the northwest. The worst of the cold will be in northern New England and upstate New York onWednesday, as the combination of wind and low temperatures will make it feelmore like zero to 10 below during the afternoon.
The wind will begin to ease farther west across the Midwest, but it will stillbe very cold.
In addition to the wind and cold, there will be lake-effect snow directlydownwind of the Great Lakes and into the northern Appalachians, which willcreate poor visibility and slippery travel.
