When I said we’re heading back to the mid-80s, I did NOT mean fashion horrors, big hair, video rentals and scratchy mix tapes. I give thanks every day for many things, including coming of age before the internet. So glad (most) of the stupid stuff I did isn’t immortalized forever in some dark corner of the web. Today, in public, just assume you’re on camera.

BTW, meteorologists use webcams and traffic cameras to get real-time verification of what the sky looks like and what weather is doing in towns statewide. Sometimes old-school is best.

September is prime time for hurricanes and fog. We experience the latter as long nights and lingering moisture create a ripe environment for “lazy clouds” forming on the ground when winds are light.

Fog gives way to some sun later on Wednesday; we have a slight chance of an afternoon shower. The pattern looks wet, but a partly sunny, warm and sticky weekend is shaping up. We may see 80s from Friday into Tuesday.

Summer’s last swoon? Who knows? But we’re heading back to the 80s after all.
