By DJ Kayser, filling in for Douglas:

I spent my Sunday morning fretting over my fantasy team. I have a record of 2-4 this season, so I think I found one of my Achilles’ heels. Apparently, fantasy football “forecasting” is just as tricky as forecasting the weather at times — especially when weather can play a factor, like in the Cleveland game yesterday.

Nothing too tricky to the forecast over the next week. Rain moves into the metro around midday Monday, with on-and-off showers continuing into Tuesday. Winds will be howling the next couple of days, peaking on Tuesday with gusts up to 40 mph. We’ll see calmer weather for the second half of the week with several mornings of frost/freeze concerns across the state. We could even see the first freeze within the heart of the metro Friday morning. The next widespread rainfall chance won’t move in until early next week.

The first 18 days of October have been the ninth warmest on record, 8.3 degrees above average. At this rate, October could be the eighth straight month with above-average temperatures for the metro.
