While at the Minnesota State Fair should meteorologists be kept on a leash? Maybe only the rowdy ones. You know this: In late August we are far more likely to complain about the heat than wiggle into a sweatshirt.

Metro highs may hold in the 60s the next few days. Sub-70-degree highs in August are fairly rare in the Twin Cities. The last time this happened? Aug. 28, 2018. Free AC from an unusually hefty cool front.

You really slept in. It’s late September. Highs in the 60s into Monday with lows dipping into the 40s and low 50s. Winds gusting to 30 mph. Food on a stick may briefly become airborne. Nearly jacket-worthy, especially up north.

A cool start to next week gives way to a slow warming trend (close to 80 degrees by next Thursday) but humidity levels remain comfortably low. Amazingly, the State Fairgrounds may remain puddle-free right into Labor Day. From monsoon rains and flooding to two dry weeks in a row. Weird, huh?

If you don’t like Minnesota weather, try not to complain. It’ll change soon enough.
