2 Summer birding

Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Aug. 16, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Meet at the Louisville Swamp Unit for a naturalist-led hike along the western edge of the Refuge. The group will look for warblers including eastern kingbirds and eastern meadowlarks. Bring binoculars. More information: www.fws.org/refuge/minnesota_valley.

3 Intro to trail running

Lake Bemidji State Park, Aug. 16, 9-9:30 a.m.

Join local trail runner Cris Bitker for a low-key lesson on trail running. Learn about proper technique and footwear before hitting the park's trails for a group run.
