1 Mountain bike racing

Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, Jan. 25 and Feb. 28, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Race through the trees and snow, then warm up at the trailhead for awards and door prizes. Studded tires are approved. Helmets required. Ages 14-plus. $12 in advance or $15 on race day (registration opens at 10 a.m.); $60 for all six races. Register at 763-559-6700.

2 Snowshoe hike

Spring Lake Park Reserve, Hastings, Jan. 24, 1-3 p.m.

Meet at the Schaar's Bluff Gathering Center for a guided snowshoe hike. Ages 16-plus. $18. Registration required; www.dakotacounty.us/parks.

3 Winter Fun Day

Celebrate the season at this free winter sampler. Ride a fatbike or participate in a triathlon of snowshoeing, skiing and winter golf. Registration required for an hourlong snowshoe hike at 10 a.m.; snowshoes available. A 1 p.m. live demonstration of how rescue dogs are used in emergency situations. 4 Lantern-lit snowshoeing and skiing

Itasca State Park, Jan. 24, 5-7:30 p.m.
