1 Cold nights and streaking lights

Whitewater State Park, Dec. 13, 7:30-9 p.m.

Watch meteors falling from the sky — at a rate of 50 or more per hour — during the 2014 Geminid meteor shower. 3 Cross-country ski lessons: Ski-skating basics

Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dec. 14, 9:30-11 a.m. and Dec. 18, 7-8:30 p.m.

4 Cross-country ski lessons: Classic beginner

5 Thursday morning walk series

Gateway State Trail, Dec. 18, 10-11:30 a.m.

Meet in the parking lot where Hwy. 96 intersects with the Gateway State Trail to snowshoe or walk with a naturalist from Afton State Park.
