Divers recover body of Milwaukee fisherman from Crawfish River

JEFFERSON, Wis. — Divers have recovered the body of a Milwaukee man who apparently drowned in the Crawfish River in southeastern Wisconsin on Sunday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office identifies him as 76-year-old Thomas Latiker.

Authorities say Latiker and his brother were fishing in the river Sunday when their boat capsized. The victim's brother said both men clung to the boat and attempted to get it to shore. But the brother said Latiker let go of the boat as they neared the shore, and he saw him floating in the river. The sheriff's office said the brother walked to a nearby residence to report the accident around 8:30 a.m.
