Dispatch: U-pick blueberry farms

July 31, 2014 at 8:21PM

"Everyone knows there's great berry-picking Up North, but we also have a number of great U-pick berry farms near the Twin Cities. I think people think about U-pick for strawberries and raspberries but not so much for blueberries, but there's quite a number of U-pick blueberry farms. And it's a good time to go for a big bounty. There's a nice one called Blueberry Fields of Stillwater, and they post a daily position report on their website."

Teresa Marrone, author of "Cooking with Wild Berries and Fruits of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan" as well as a companion field guide.

Marrone will give a talk on "Wild Edibles of the Gunflint Trail" at the Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center in Grand Marais at 2 p.m. Sunday

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
